With IoTize traditional embedded systems can be Internet enabled. The module from Keolab can be connected via the debug port or the serial port. The great thing is: The connected device must not be changed in any way – neither must the firmware.

With the IoTize module, engineers can link their embedded system to the Internet of Things (IoT). Directly via the debug port, the module connects the system to the cloud without needing to interfere with the original firmware or hardware of the system. If no debug port is available, a serial interface can be used. Neither RF knowledge nor certification processes are needed for the start-up. Furthermore, no special tools or skills are needed. The module has its own co-processor that accesses the memory of the target system processor without behaving intrusively. Additionally IoTize includes one or more radio interfaces and can furthermore be extended by additional storage or security elements.

The module’s software allows real-time communication with the application processor and can be used to create configuration surfaces. Once the IoTize module is configured, it acts as an interface between the processor of the target system, the smartphone and the cloud. The connection can be made via NFC, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but the module can also be adapted to any other type of radio transmission.
With the simple API and HTML templates smartphone applications can be created – for example, to allow for monitoring and controlling of a system or to exchange data with the cloud.
