The UAM-Initiative Ingolstadt (part of the European Commission's »Smart Cities and Communities« programme) is a network of industrial partners, researchers, regulatory bodies, authorities and the city of Ingolstadt. Together, the partners want to promote electrically operated mobility concepts for inner-city and interurban use and thus improve mobility in large, densely populated cities and future megacities.
As a partner of the initiative, Rohde & Schwarz is concentrating in particular on testing and validating technologies to ensure the safety of future transport concepts. To this end, the company offers specific measuring instruments for testing sensors, on-board communications, flight navigation and electric drives as well as the entire system - including verification of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Rohde & Schwarz is convinced that autonomous driving and mobility in the third dimension enable seamless traffic concepts if the technologies function faultlessly and reliably. A total of more than 150 participants took part in the one-day event on 22nd of July 2019. The programme consisted of lectures, panel discussions, break-out sessions and workshops.
