After more than 33 years as Managing Director of the Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation, Hans-Jürgen Hilscher has handed over overall responsibility for the group of companies to his son Sebastian Hilscher as the new CEO.

Sebastian Hilscher had already been responsible for the further development of Hilscher's core technology "netX" for several years. The succession has been planned for more than a year. On January 1, 2020, Sebastian Hilscher took over the operational areas of Sales, Production, Commercial Management (provisional) and Product Development in addition to the Software Development, netX Development and Service divisions and will manage these areas in close cooperation with a selected management team.

As a member of the management team, Hans-Jürgen Hilscher will act in an advisory capacity and, as the new CDO, will take over the "netField and Innovation" area, where he will continue the IoT strategy for the company. netField" is an end-to-end Industry 4.0 solution offered as a modular technology platform - from the chipset solution based on netX to the edge computing platform that can be individually extended with container apps and its device management via an adaptable cloud-based portal. For the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance, Hans-Jürgen Hilscher continues to hold the function of Technical Leads.
