With 57 lectures, six keynotes, eight tutorials, and two panel discussions, the Wireless Congress offers a packed program for its 15th anniversary. This year, the Wireless Congress will once again take place parallel to Electronica at the ICM - International Congress Center Munich.

On November 14 and 15, the 15th Wireless Congress - Systems and Applications will once again attract wireless experts from all over the world. Researchers, developers, and professional users of wireless systems, universities, research institutes, and industry will travel to Munich to exchange information on the latest technical developments with colleagues.

The Wireless Congress, organized by Elektronik in cooperation with ZVEI and Messe München, bundles all areas and aspects of radio communication in its program. This year, in addition to the trend topic 5G and mobile radio, the topics LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network), industrial wireless, IoT, and radio networking as well as energy harvesting are in the foreground.

Keynotes From 5G Experts

The upcoming mobile radio standard 5G is the central topic of the keynotes with which the Wireless Congress starts:

»Semiconductor Technologies for 5G Applications«,
Nadine Collaert, Ph.D., IMEC,

»5G Development for Vertical Industries«,
Dr. Joseph Eichinger, Huawei,

»5G – Expectations, Opportunities, Challenges – and Missing Pieces«,
Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fettweis, Vodafone/TU Dresden,

»LTE Cat-NB1 and M1 Pave the Way for 5G-IoT«,
Len Jelinek, IHS Markit

»The Potential of 5G for Industry 4.0«,
Afif Osseiran, Ph.D., Ericsson.

Three keynote speakers, Nadine Collaert, Dr. Joseph Eichinger, and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fettweis, will discuss the question »5G - the All-in-One Wireless Connectivity Suitable for Every (industrial) Purpose?« in the panel discussion on the second day of the conference and discuss it with the conference participants.

Tutorials for Focused Information

For developers who want to get deeper into a wireless topic, eight tutorials are planned in the program of the 15th Wireless Congress. For example, a hands-on workshop for »Maker« on NB-IoT, a workshop on emb::6 - an open source 6LoWPAN project by Elektronik and the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences - to introduce narrowband communication, antennas, and data transmission via light: Li-Fi.
