As of January 1st 2020, no cash registers may be put into operation in Germany for which there is no guarantee that they can be equipped with a certified TSE system (technical security device) in compliance with the law by 30 September 2020. In addition, all cash registers in the field must be retrofitted by the end of 2022 at the latest. Through their cooperation, Swissbit and Partner Tech want to ensure that the fiscalisation of existing cash register systems can be implemented in due course.
Swissbit has developed a pluggable and therefore easy-to-integrate fiscalisation system. The Swissbit TSE is connected via the USB, SD or microSD interface. For this reason, both providers of classic POS systems and manufacturers of POS software can integrate Swissbit-TSE into PCs and tablets. It is also suitable for cost-effective retrofitting of existing POS systems.
"All POS systems already in use in the field in commerce, trade and gastronomy must be retrofitted by the end of 2022 at the latest - PC systems even by the end of 2020. The pluggable Swissbit TSEs are designed for this," says Hubertus Grobbel, Vice President Security Solutions at Swissbit in Munich.
"As a hardware manufacturer, we will ensure that the cash registers are upgraded across the board within the remaining period," adds Philip Banz, Vice President DACH at Partner Tech.
Swissbit has submitted three variants of the TSE to the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as part of the certification process. POS manufacturers can easily integrate the Swissbit TSE into classic or PC-based POS systems. The connection is made via the USB, SD or microSD interface. Swissbit also provides an SDK (Software Development Kit), drivers and support for Windows, Linux, Android and embedded systems. The Swissbit TSE is easily scalable, as it can be used in single devices as well as with several devices connected via LAN.
Field-proven fiscal systems
Swissbit has been supplying tried and tested fiscal systems to prevent VAT fraud in France, Slovakia and other countries for over three years. The Swiss company develops and manufactures the storage products in its own factory in Berlin and can therefore also offer customer-specific products flexibly according to requirements.
