Droning it peacefully

Workers and students of the TU Berlin have developed an unmanned aerial vehicle that is electrically driven and can carry a 1 kg payload. Also onboard is a PC that collects flight status data and can act as an autopilot. Lower prices and improving performance of embedded systems and sensor technology, plus support from industry, are enabling students to pursue a variety of project ideas - such as IFSys (intelligent flying system) with the aim of developing an unmanned aerial system.
